Wood grains, sleek finishes and an earthy palette come together in this sophisticated urban pad.

Given a new space, essentially a blank canvas to work with, homeowners are inundated with myriad styles to pick from. With so many different ways that a home can be designed, many have discovered that there really is no need to stick to a particular style. Instead, combining elements can result in wholly unique homes.

Making it work, however, can be a challenge. When interior design firm Sense Ideas Design was brought on board to design this apartment, the design team blended sleek urban design and down-to-earth rustic touches, revealing a sensuous city abode.

A bathroom is located within the kitchen area, so the design team decided to create a combined space for utility as well as a vanity area. Aside from fitting it with the necessary elements like cabinets, a mirror and a vessel sink, the team also took care of details such as hooking up the hairdryer on the wall, which provide the homeowners with greater convenience.

Personal Retreat

Further in, the colour palette remains consistent with the rest of the apartment too. The bedroom, after all, is a place for rest, and warm brown tones are perfect for restful nights. Here, customisation also plays a crucial role. Firstly, with a customised television console, study desk and tall cabinet lined up against one wall, the design team has created an efficient and pratical bedroom.
